A stock of 10'x4' and 12'x4' double sided canvas flats has been suggested. In previous years
this has been unfeasible due to damp problems in the arch but the new set store is designed to
limit that, meaning flats will last more than one year.
In fig. 2, the flats shouldn't warp under compression.

Finally, I think it is worth looking at using cleats rather than pin-hinges for joining flats
wherever possible. Cleats are much easier to get undone in a hurry, and just as strong as pin
hinges. Also, there are no pins to lose, which makes life easier.
