Cans
General Theatre: The hard-wired intercom system found in most theatres
used to communicate between the control box, wings and backstage. Abbreviation
of "Canford TechPro" which is one of the more popular intercom systems in use.
Also a similie to the old 'can on a string' principal some older
theatres used to use, a set of two 'collection'/'emitter' devices
connected by a resonating material (string).
Lighting: Abbreviation of Parcans, lights which are identifiable by their
being long cylinders with a bulb mounted at one end and are without lenses.
