Sponsoring MUGSSWhat's this all about?
The Manchester Universities' Gilbert and Sullivan Society is a non-profit organisation with a membership of around 75, producing two musicals a year. We enable students and non-students to participate in all aspects of theatre production in professional venues in Manchester. Last year, we produced The Sorcerer in February 2009 at the RNCM theatre in central Manchester. For our productions, we do everything ourselves from making set and costumes, to promoting the show and providing cast and people to run the production (e.g. stage management) and the theatre during the production itself. Previous productions have included a sell-out world premiere production of Rock Trial, an arrangement of Gilbert and Sullivan's Trial by Jury by a new local artist. Our previous two shows, The Mikado and Iolanthe were seen by audiences in excess of 1700 each. MUGSS has a core membership of 70, a mixture of students and graduates, and a wide network of ex-members (mainly in Manchester and London) with a mailing list of around 500. Our fundraising efforts this year also include a calendar for which we are seeking a sponsor per month to offset our printing costs. Other sponsorship opportunities include advertising in our programme, on our publicity materials (which are plastered over the campus and beyond) or show t-shirts, and donating gifts for our raffle to be held during the Sorcerer's show week. If you feel that you may be able to provide some form of sponsorship, please see below for some of what we can give you in return. For more information please contact our sponsorship secretary (sponsorship@mugss.org) More details of the benefits of sponsorship along with more information about MUGSS and this year's shows can be obtained by contacting our sponsorship secretary. Talk to our Sponsorship Secretary about how we can mutually benefit each other now or email sponsorship@mugss.org . |
