Chair – Matthew Addison To contact the committee use the links above or email committee@mugss.org. You can also find them at any of our rehearsals. So, what do all these people do? Well some of them have told me..... Treasurer: An executive member of the committee. Responsible for all matters financial from budgeting to ticket prices to front of house. The treasurer has a direct interest in almost everything! The treasurer is the person who decides whether something is allowed to happen on a financial basis. Therefore the treasurer is the person asked by all including the chair about the feasibility and workability of a project. The treasurer's job is to say no to all but the most heart-wrenching pleas for money, and even then to say 'No, it is not in the budget.' Secretary: The main elements of this job are: To write minutes of the committee meetings, Organise the tours, Write letters to people, apologies, thanks etc. Help out with anything that anyone else has problems with.
Socials Sec: The social secretary's job is to organise two socials a week; on
thursday after the rehersal and at the weekend on saturday night.
They are incharge of the organisation of the 2 annual balls and
various parties traditionally held throughout the year; such as the
cocktail party, tarts party, wine evening and the week of socials
during show week. Ordinary Members: This job is fairly general – any non-specific jobs that don't fit into places such as Secretary or Treasurer get passed on to the Ordinary Members, for example booking rooms for committee meetings, and managing the register. We're also there to help the other members of committee when their jobs get too much for them to easily cope with. Sponsorship Secretary: Works on getting sponsorship for the society and the show. Chair: In charge of everything, buck stopping type person. And the friendly face of the society. The Society Constitution says how these posts are elected. |
