The Committee

Ben Woolner

Chair: Ben Woolner

chair@mugss.org

Ben attributes much of his enthusiasm for MUGSS to the desire he has to get as far away from his maths degree as possible, an endeavour which is now entering it's third year and has helped propel him into many sleepless nights in the run up to exams. Aside from MUGSS, Ben is passionate about Manchester City Football Club, foreign travel, cheese, Ribena and sending lots of committee emails just so Paul O'Neill has to pretend he has read them all.

Secretaries: Tom Lyall and Lizzy East

secretary@mugss.org

Tom joined MUGSS in 2008 after having spent too much time in the pub with the crew, now escapes to lighter secretarial duties. When not in the arch or the pub, he can be found attempting to get a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Treasurers: Hannah Smith and Scott Sharp

Hannah Smith

Hannah only joined MUGSS in September 2008 as a fresher, but during this year it has started to be a big part of her life... it's a good job that she loves it! Aside from MUGSS, she is currently doing a BSocSci in Social Anthropology, which she enjoys very much. She is sure that the best thing about MUGSS is the amazing friends she has made.

Scott Sharp

Scott has been a member of MUGSS since 2007 and has since taken on the roles of a lead tenor, a treasurer and a ticket manager. This year he has somehow been convinced to return to the position of treasurer (he suspects it has something to do with his fondness of colourful spreadsheets) despite the fact he is also attempting to complete his fourth and final year towards a masters in chemistry at the same time.

Social Secretaries: Dan Magnone and Hollie Gillatt

socials@mugss.org

Now in the final year of her History of Art degree, Hollie knows that she is going to have to do a lot of hard work. At least two, maybe even three hours a week. In what little free time is left to her, she intends to get MUGSS rolling along like the happy drunken party machine she knows it can be. Having a good time is henceforth mandatory.

Ordinary Members: Nick Bennett, Sophie Holt and Paul O'Neill

ordmemb@mugss.org

Nick Bennett

Nick joined MUGSS on a whim in 2008. It's in danger of becoming a long whim. Having caused trouble at rehearsals for two years, he felt he should cause some trouble at committee meetings instead. Outside MUGSS, Nick is into Philosophy in a big way, which is why he's failing a Mechanical Engineering degree.

Sophie Holt

Sophie joined MUGSS last year and now regrets not joining as a fresher. When she's not reading cases and articles for her law degree she likes to check facebook, gossip, obsess about Blackburn Rovers and eat BBQ sauce. This is Sophie's final year studying and so she's desperate to have lots of fun before she has to grow up!

Paul O'Neill

Paul joined MUGSS in 2004 as insurance against ever really finishing university. He graduated 5 years ago. Money well spent. His favourite hobbies outside theatre are avoiding reality, drinking tea, eating Twiglets, irregular exercise, bemoaning Everton's defensive frailties and reading Ben Woolner's Committee emails.
