Malcolm Fallows, the MD of Orrell Musical and Dramatic Society said:

Came to see the show on the Friday. What a superb fantastic Gondoliers it was! Fresh and innovative.

Glyn Parry and his wife commented that it Gondoliers was:

A first class show. We particularly liked the muppet character.

Liam Geoghegan said:

I very much enjoyed the production of 'The Gondoliers' this past week. In fact, I enjoyed it so much I came to see it twice!!

Rita Southern and David Jackson told the committee:

Fantastic production!!!!!! – please pass on congratulations to all concerned.

On the SavoyNet discussion list, Ray Walker posted a review of the show, which included:

I thought how good it would be to have the University take this highly original production to Buxton, but there is always the considerable expense to consider. There will be those that wouldn't like it, but there was a lot of intelligence and energy put into the show that it had to be appreciated and it worked.

Jim Symcox mailed us to say:

I wanted to let you know that I enjoyed the Gondoliers very much. The use of salsa was inspired and the amount of energy and enthusiasm generated by the chorus was fantastic.
I thought the Geordie Grand Inquisitor nearly stole the show from the ventriloquist's dummy. The Inquisistor metamorphosing through a pantomime dame into Carmen Miranda was excellent.
In summary, well done, an excellent show and great amounts of enthusiasm were evident and a little coarse acting, which never goes amiss!
