£2.60 and a packet of pork scratchingsOne of the "newer" in-jokes, this one hails from the heady days of Gondoliers 2003. Having had the first set meeting with the director, the production manager, Si, was complainig about how small the production budget was. In response, Alison reduced the production budget to "£2.60 and a packet of pork scratchings". Throughout the year, it became a standard response when anyone asked how much they could spend on any production item. The term is still used infrequently among the older inhabitants of the arch. |
