Dainty Little Hippos

Dainty Little Hippos

A parody of the entry of the female chorus in Iolanthe
Peformed at Kirkby in 1997 by Nick Elliot, Bill Ryal, Richard Blight, Richard Sullivan, Stuart Johnston and lots of other people who I have forgotten.

Drinking hither, drinking thither
'til out livers die and wither
We must drink and we must smoke,
when we're chasing all the blokes.
(repeat)

We are dainty little hippos ever eating vegetation
We indulge in over drinking and then much regurgitation
If you ask the special function of our never ceasing boozing
We reply without compunction that it doesn't stop out floozing.
No, it doesen't stop our floozing, always floozing.

Drinking hither, drinking thither etc etc

If you ask us what we drink, we will answer any fink
We drink lager, we drink ale
Bitter, porter, mild or pale
What it tastes like we don't care
If there's beer then we'll be there
We drink whisky, vodka, lime
We keep drinking all the time
If you know us, you'll discover
That we always want another

Yes, we always want another

Drinking hither, drinking thither etc etc

We are dainty little hippos ever eating vegetation
We indulge in over drinking and then much regurgitation
Regurgitation.
Regurgitation.

Drinking hither, drinking thither
'til our livers die and wither.
